Mills E. Godwin High School is located in The
West End of Henrico County in the suburbs of
Richmond, Virginia. The school is operated by
Henrico County Public Schools and was named
in honor of the late, Honorable Mills E. Godwin
Jr., a two term Governor of the Commonwealth
of Virginia. In 1980 Godwin High opened its
doors to students and is the counties second
newest high school. There are approximately
1900 students enrolled at Godwin, their mascot

the Virginia High School League’s Colonial District

boast some of the highest test scores in the
region and provide a wonderful environment for
our youth. Former Godwin High neighborhoods
of Wellesley, FoxHall, Gayton Station, Barrington,

Shopping,
Dining, Business
In the Fall of 2003 our area celebrated the
opening of Short
Pump Town Center, one of the finest shopping
destinations in the region. Stores such as Nordstrom’s,
Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel and Franco’s
plus restaurants like The Cheesecake Factory,
Copper Grill and Firebirds are now just minutes
away. All around the Town Center scores of other
shops, restaurants and businesses have opened
in the last few years and the development continues
along the Godwin Area’s Broad St. corridor with
the development of West Broad Village. The Broad
St, Pump Rd. and Lauderdale Rd. corridors of
the Godwin area gives the community convenience
with grocery stores, gas stations, pharmacies,
medical offices, neighborhood restaurants, dry
cleaners and other shops. The Godwin area is
also convenient to many corporate developments
including West Creek, home to Capital One and
Car-Max and the 800 acre Innsbrook Corporate
Park, home to 500+ companies and more than 20,000
professionals. |
